The words ''Den glider in'' origin from a famous report by Swedish radio reporter Lennart Hyland when Nils Nilsson scored the final goal in open goal when Sweden won, 5-3, against Canada before winning the entire tournament during the 1962 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship in Colorado, US.
The song also became a Svensktoppen hit, charting between 29 April-6 May 1995, with a first position followed up with a third position.〔(Svensktoppen - ''1995'' )〕
Sweden reached the final during the 1995 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship, losing to Finland. which was the first time ever Finland won the tournament and in Finland, a new version of the song was recorded when celebrating the victory.
